E2 successfully gained planning permission for this nine unit residential development over a ground floor retail outlet in Hackney.The project involved the complete redesign of an existing permission to improve apartment layouts, increase number of beds and creates a well defined street elevation with generous balconies and roof terraces.This challenging development next to a railway cutting involved negotiations with Network Rail, compliance with Lifetime Homes and London Plan space standards on constrained site.The result was a significant increase in the gross development value through rational internal layouts and generous balconies.
