This project involved the complete internal refurbishment of a Grade 2 listed first floor apartment in Kensington. The apartment was located on the piano nobile of a grand terraced house that had suffered badly from conversion. Elaborate and decorative original ceiling roses and cornices were hidden behind suspended ceilings and an Edwardian glass house, tacked onto the rear was leaking badly and in need of repair and restoration. We stripped back existing cornices and exposed and repaired hidden and missing mouldings. We reinstated the glass house and created an open plan kitchen, living and green house arrangement that flow seamlessly together.Muted and dark tones create a tranquil and relaxing environment that complements the highly decorative original fittings and finishes. We managed the project from RIBA Stages 0-5.
