Laid out over two floors the brief from George was that he wanted the space to make his customers feel as though they were entering his home; for it to be “a place to relax, as well as work miracles with hair”.Our concept was for the various spaces to feel like different rooms in a house. Wood, steel and micro-cement flooring was used upstairs to create an industrial vibe with specially designed full-height steel and recycled lab-top shelving to partially screen the interior from the street. Cutting stations were made out of steel and quartzite. Within this space a ‘living room’ was created, with inset reclaimed herringbone parquet and re-upholstered classic 1950s furniture. The lower floor is all about colouring, and uses rich tiled accents to make the underground setting feel luxurious.
